R & P Post 3: Our production and distribution institutions

The production company we came up with is called Bugle Films. It is an independent production company based in London specialising in low-budget independent films with elements of the action, thriller and horror genres. We wanted to convey a sense of projection through our company name and branding - with the bugle used to herald messages and commands. 

Distribution company:

We decided that Film4 were
best suited to distribute our film

For our distribution company, we decided on Film4 Productions. They are a company also based in London and are well experienced with distributing British independent films such as ours, especially those with gritty themes. Furthermore, we took inspiration from their distribution of other British films such as The Woman In Black and Eye In The Sky, which share similar themes to our own film. Another major benefit of choosing Film4 is that they often provide much-needed investment for low-budget independent films with the aim of generating profits from this investment, as opposed to altering the style of the film to a mass-produced, Hollywood-style movie rather than
a focus on the story itself.
