Having decided upon using intertextuality throughout, incorporating Andrew Goodwin's theory in Dancing in the Distraction Factory, we are planning on creating a video with references to various points in the history of the roles of women. Some good existing examples of intertextual videos are those of Spike Jonze - in this particular video, Weezer's 'Buddy Holly, the use of grading alongside older footage, 'Happy Days' graphics, as well as costume, props & makeup create a really effective reference back to boy bands around the 1950s and 1960s:
